Garvin Nicholas

Garvin Nicholas holds a Bachelor of Laws from the Oxford Brookes University, and was called to the Bar of England and Wales at the Inner Temple

He entered politics in 1990 with the PNM, was appointed on the Advisory Committee to the Diego Martin Regional Corporation in 1992, contested the 1992 Local Government Election and won the seat of Moka/Boissierre and served on the Diego Martin Regional Corporation as the Chairman of the Finance and General Purposes Committee and Convenor of the Bye-Laws Sub-Committee.

During this time, and among the notable events he formed the Diego Martin East charitable foundation. After his term was finished he “bowed out” from the front line politics.

Again the desire to see the development of Trinidad and Tobago achieved he joined the UNC in 2001 and managed the campaign for the Diego Martin East Constituency. He later contested the Diego Martin East seat in 2002 without success.

Despite the many temptations of going abroad to capitalize on opportunities and with a growing sense of alarm for the lack of real development and sustainability of TT he founded the Club of Concerned Citizens earlier this year (2005).

Garvin has also served in leadership capacities in various organizations;
